Privacy Policy

This policy describes the information collected during a visit, why it is used, and the limited circumstances in which another party may receive it. By continuing to use Dawson County Criminal History, you consent to the practices stated here.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

A name or place entered in a search box is transmitted to the outside company operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its result. We do not retain or log those search terms on our systems.

Messages and Contact Submissions

We may keep an email or submitted message long enough to respond and maintain the related correspondence. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.

Data We Gather Automatically

Our servers receive routine technical information when a page loads, including:

  • Page-view dates and times
  • Your device's IP address
  • Browser name and version
  • Operating system and device category
  • Visited pages and approximate time on each
  • A referring site, when one is supplied

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies are small files stored on a device. They and analytics services help combine traffic data so we can understand page use and exit patterns. Browser controls can block cookies, although doing so may change how some features work.

What We Do With This Data

  • Routing a search to the provider selected by the visitor
  • Maintaining reliable and responsive pages
  • Finding and repairing technical faults
  • Measuring which content is useful
  • Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests

No Criminal-Record Data on File

We neither maintain nor sell a database of personal criminal records. Dawson County record guidance points toward the sheriff and jail, County Court and District Court, Nebraska State Patrol Criminal Identification Division, and Nebraska Sex Offender Registry. Visitor information is not assembled into third-party criminal files or consumer reports, and this site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

Third-Party Search Partners

Outside companies run the search boxes. Their privacy terms, retention rules, and disclosure practices apply to information submitted through a tool. Review the provider's policy first because we do not control its processing.

Links to Other Websites

Links may lead to the Dawson County sheriff, Nebraska courts, state agencies, legal resources, and outside search providers. Once you leave, the destination's privacy policy governs. Read it before providing personal information.

Advertising companies may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and select ads. We do not operate that tracking.

Who Might See Your Data

Personal data is not sold. Limited information can be disclosed to:

  • Analytics vendors measuring traffic and performance
  • Search partners receiving a query you submit
  • Advertising networks serving content
  • A government or law-enforcement body acting under a valid legal demand

How We Protect Your Data

Reasonable security practices are used for information under our control. No internet system can be guaranteed secure, so we cannot promise that unauthorized access will never occur.

Users Under 18

The site is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. If such information is identified, we will delete it.

Your Data Rights

Rights may vary by residence. Nebraska's Public Records Act, Neb. Rev. Stat. §§84-712 through 84-712.09, applies to government records, while §29-3523 governs public dissemination of specified criminal-history information. For data held by us, you may:

  • Request access to personal information we hold
  • Ask that inaccurate data be corrected
  • Seek deletion where applicable
  • Object to certain processing where the law provides that choice

Updates to This Policy

We may revise this policy. A revised version will appear here with its new effective date, and continued use after publication means the revised terms apply.

Effective date: July 31, 2026
